Empowering
Students in
STEM

Chief Science Officers are collaborative voices of change on campus and in their communities.

About Chief Science Officers

CSOs are 6th-12th grade liaisons who serve as STEM ambassadors to champion communication, interest, and engagement in STEM (STEAM when you include the arts) experiences on campus or in their community.

CSOs also streamline interactions with local businesses and industry partners, higher education institutions, and STEM professionals to offer their peers hands-on experiences to build awareness and employability skills.

Collaboratively, CSOs function in geographical areas as a unified “cabinet,” engaging in local, state, and national STEM conversations to change the perception of STEM at various levels; transform school and community culture; and broaden participation for all students and community members.

Career Exploration Action Plans

Ways for CSOs to engage with the platform:

  1. Host classroom presentation for peers to register for accounts.
  2. Select careers to highlight on a panel discussion.
  3. Pick a date to co-host a Digital STEM Career Day.
  4. Invite Nova & Rolo for a site visit to highlight careers in Science & Tech.
